Hernia Weg and RKM740: How the Process Works
Your journey begins with a consultation with one of our specialists at our practice MVZ RÜCKENDOC, located at Mediapark 3 in Cologne. During this appointment, we will assess your symptoms, establish a diagnosis using the appropriate diagnostic tools, and discuss your personalised treatment plan in detail.
If surgery is required, you will receive clear, step-by-step instructions to prepare for the procedure. All preparation takes place in Cologne, even if your surgery will be carried out at the RKM740 Clinic in Düsseldorf. Together with you, we’ll find a suitable date for your operation — this can often be arranged for the very next day. You will also receive a call from our anaesthesia team, who will inform you of your exact surgery time.
On the day of your operation, you should arrive at the clinic at the agreed time and on an empty stomach. Most patients choose to stay in a hotel nearby with a family member the night before and after the procedure. If you are having your operation at the RKM740 Clinic, we recommend The Zipper Hotel, which is located in the same building. It offers excellent comfort and convenience, and we have arranged a special discount for our patients — available via a dedicated booking link.
During your stay in the clinic, our experienced medical team will guide you through each stage of your treatment, keeping you informed and supported every step of the way.
In most cases, you’ll be ready to return home the day after surgery. Following the morning ward round, which usually takes place between 7:00 and 9:00 am, you’ll be discharged and can head home to begin your recovery.
